I was hired in 2016 as President of Intellibed with a special mandate to revolutionize the product offering. The core gel technology was invented before I joined the company, but I named it Gel Matrix and developed a whole new approach for how to market the product. I also redesigned all the existing products and inventing several new products.

Intellibed was acquired by Purple Mattress, and absorbed the Intellibed product into their line. Intellibed products now represent the top end of their product offering. So the Intellibed products remain in market albeit with branding and design alterations.
Details
The product set was rebuilt with new products designed from the ground up for more of a luxurious look. Their was a clear good, better, best system built into it. And different lines were created for web, Intellibed retails and wholesale retail customers. Additionally, Pillows were rebranded and expanded. Baby beds were invented. And smart beds with sleep enhancement technologies were developed.
Every single product in the line was reinvented and relaunched in addition to a about 10 additional new to the world products. This SKU count doesn't include the variety of sizes from Twin to California King. Size variations would take the count into the range of 200 SKU's.

With one layer of Gel Matrix, Intellibed was already a premium bed, so how could you make an ultra-premium bed? It might seem simple in hindsight, but what is better than one layer of gel matrix?
Well Two!
My invention of two layer Intellibed with differential buckling points created the softest and firmest bed ever made. This "best" bed became the extremely profitable Indigo®
and Midnight® beds with margins north of 80%.

In March of 2000, the Covid crisis suddenly created a dramatic rise in the demand of immunity products. In response to this, I concepted the IMMUFIGHT product line, which was was launched during Covid lock-downs, in spite of the labor and supply chain constraints.
Column Buckling
Intellibed's Gel Matrix is Both Firmer AND Softer at the same time than the leading foam used in most mattresses. But, how can that be possible? It is due to the physics of column buckling. Gel columns remain very firm until they suddenly buckle and become totally soft. Foam has linear compression, but Gel Matrix has non-linear, dynamic compression. Wow!
